Frenchstone Gardens

and I am the owner of Frenchstone Gardens, a small, cut-flower farm established in 2022 in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin.

I grow unique, heirloom flowers in soft, romantic color palettes that are reminiscent of the time I spent in France many years ago during my college studies.

Farming was never a career path I had considered in life. As a kid, I always loved farms. I was also attracted to art and beautifying my surroundings. But I didn’t see any of this as a way to support a family. So instead, I went into medicine.  However, after retiring early to help take care of family members with complex, chronic illnesses, I turned to my love of gardening to ground me while also attending to my family. During the next couple years, COVID wreaked havoc on all our lives. Once this finally died down, I found myself with way too much time on my hands and felt lost. Then I discovered I could grow cut flowers on an intensive scale, and the same part of me that initially drew me to medicine allowed me instead to nurture hundreds of plants and flowers. There was no issue that came up with them that would cause me to just give up on them. I could not throw out a plant that had nearly snapped in half. I always found ways to keep them alive and even thrive. I had found that tending to them grounded me and brought me joy.

I am at peace when I am outdoors.  For this reason, I honor nature by working in a manner that respects the environment. I do not use harmful chemicals. Instead, I use beneficial insects and biologic controls to manage pests. I compost garden waste to feed my fields. Working with nature’s own processes brings me so much peace and joy. I would love to share the beauty and joy in my life with you.

I sell to florists for events, mostly weddings. I started offering flower bouquet subscriptions to the local community in 2025. Lastly, I love to do bouquets/arrangements for gifts or small events and can tailor these to your wishes and cost constraints. If you are looking for a custom bouquet, please contact me by email (mary@frenchstonegardens.com)
